Emre started swimming with his family's support when he was 3 years old. His family preferred swimming because of the lesser risk of injury.

He almost drowned at the age of three. He didn’t want to go into the water again. He was even afraid to take a shower. His family's decision to deal with this fear was successful, and Emre overcame his phobia with their support and opened a new page in his life.

His mother was with him in every challenge. She has always represented his biggest support. It was a great adventure to accompany his mother on this life journey.

Emre loved swimming and being in the water. He went to training at every opportunity. For Emre, being at the pool meant being at home.

He crossed paths with Türker Oktay, one of the trainers of the Turkish National Swimming Team, when he was 12 years old. With the support and consultancy of Türker Oktay, Emre's belief in reaching his goals increased even more.

Emre was born in 1997 in İzmir. İzmir is a special place for him. He wrote İzmir on his heart while swimming and this photo immortalized one of the unforgettable moments in his life.

He participated in an overseas race for the first time in the European Short Course Swimming Championship held in Netanya, Israel.

Emre won his first medal at the Turkish Championship he attended in Ankara. It was a surprise that he came out as the champion of the 2nd series.

Emre, who is devoted to the colors of Yellow and Dark Blue, is also proud to be the athlete of this club.

Emre represented Türkiye at the European Youth Summer Festival held in Utrecht, Netherlands in July 2013.

Emre Sakcı, represented our country at the Baku 2015 European Games held with the participation of European countries.

He became the first Turkish swimmer to break a youth world record with a time of 26.67 in the men's 50 m breaststroke auditions at the Turkey Inter-Club Short Course Swimming Championship in 2015.

He came fifth in the world with a time of 25.89 in the 50-meter breaststroke category at the 2018 World Short Course Swimming Championships held in China. It was the best time ever made in this category.

Emre's grandfather was a role model for him. He was a lively and cheerful person and had an important place in Emre's life. Emre shared his special moments with his grandfather during his tough times. In 2019, the death of his grandfather affected him a lot, he always felt his absence.

He won a silver medal at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in 2019. He finished the men's 50-meter breaststroke in 25.82 at the tournament in Glasgow, Scotland. Emre brought Türkiye the first medal in this category. In the tournament held in Glasgow, Scotland, the men's 50 m distance race was completed with 25.82. Emre Sakcı brought to Türkiye the first medal in this category.

He broke a European record by finishing the men's 50-meter breaststroke race in 25.50 at the International Swimming League held in Budapest in 2020.

He broke his record in the men's 50-meter breaststroke in International Swimming League with 25.29 at the International Swimming League held in Budapest in 2020. His time was the second-fastest in history.

Emre added a third European short-course record in 100 m breaststroke, with a time of 55.74, just seconds off the World Record. He won first place and broke 3 European records in the International Swimming League.

Emre was awarded the "Male Breakout Swimmer of The Year" at the 2020 Swammy Awards given by "SwimSwam", one of the world's most prestigious swimming websites.

In 2021, he crossed paths with Abdi İbrahim, which continually supports Turkish Sports and its athletes, and signed a sponsorship agreement.

Emre Sakcı expressed the importance of the agreement he made with Abdi İbrahim with the following words: “Abdi İbrahim became a pioneer in sports by supporting an amateur branch. Swimming isn't just about breaking records and winning medals for me. I want to contribute to the development of amateur sports in my country, especially swimming. Abdi İbrahim's 'Future Healed with Sports' slogan also expresses my feelings."

Emre proudly represented our country by participating in the 2021 Tokyo International Sports Competitions.

He achieved another important success at the European Short Course Swimming Championship held in Kazan, Russia. He was placed second in the men’s 50-meter breaststroke in 25.39 and won a silver medal at the European Short Course Swimming Championships 2021.

At the Turkish Şehitkamil Arena Interclub Short Course Junior and Open Age Swimming Championships held in Gaziantep, he broke the world short-course record by achieving a time of 24.95 in 50 m breaststroke. He broke his first world record. He made us proud as the first swimmer to break 25 seconds.
