Abdi İbrahim conducts procurement activities on three main areas: direct material, indirect material, and investment. Supplier selection and improvement of business processes are among the company’s top priorities in its procurement processes. “Domestic Procurement” Drive from Abdi İbrahim

Abdi İbrahim continues to increase the share of local suppliers in its procurement operations in line with its HEAL2030 sustainability strategy. Launched in 2018, this strategy guides Abdi İbrahim to prioritize domestic suppliers in product, machinery, service, chemical and equipment procurements. In 2021, Abdi İbrahim worked with local manufacturers in 55 projects for over 500 purchase orders, divided into five main groups of; machinery & equipment, spare parts, chemicals, laboratory equipment & consumables, and small devices & equipment, which would otherwise be ordered from overseas. As a result, Abdi İbrahim’s business volume with local suppliers increased five-fold in 2021 compared to the 2018-2020 period. The products and equipment procured from local suppliers are not only used in Türkiye, but also in Abdi İbrahim’s production facilities in Kazakhstan and Algeria, where the company has a total investment of USD 110 million.

The “Domestic Procurement” drive goes beyond supporting local manufacturers, as it also reduces Abdi İbrahim’s carbon footprint from transportation usage while contributing to the national economy by reducing current deficit.

Abdi İbrahim places utmost importance to working with solution partners that comply with occupational health and safety regulations and ethics. In order to improve mutual business processes and to ensure a long-term working environment, we evaluate compliance processes annually, communicated the areas of improvement and development to our suppliers.
