Abdi İbrahim Becomes the First Company in the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry to Receive the Equal Pay Certification

Abdi İbrahim has been awarded the Equal Pay Certification by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation, one of the world's leading reference organizations in the field of pay equity, in recognition of its policies and practices based on fairness and equality in compensation. By demonstrating that it provides equal pay for women and men performing the same or work of equal value, the company has become the first in the Turkish pharmaceutical industry to earn this certification.

The achievement of Abdi İbrahim, the uninterrupted leader of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry for the past 24 years, in ensuring equal pay for women and men performing the same or work of equal value has now been internationally recognized. By receiving the Equal Pay Certification awarded by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation, Abdi İbrahim has become the first company in the Turkish pharmaceutical industry to obtain this certification.

Headquartered in Switzerland, the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation administers the internationally recognized and independent Equal Pay Certification, which assesses whether companies provide equal pay for women and men performing the same or work of equal value. As part of the certification process, salary and benefits data are comprehensively analyzed by an independent auditing firm. Upon successful completion of the assessment, companies' pay equity practices are certified in line with international standards.

Guided by its people-centered management approach, Abdi İbrahim places great importance on providing a fair, inclusive, and equal-opportunity workplace for all employees. The company regards equal pay for women and men performing the same or work of equal value as one of the fundamental principles of its corporate culture. This commitment also forms an integral part of the company's sustainability strategy.

Commenting on this significant achievement, Dr. Süha Taşpolatoğlu, CEO of Abdi İbrahim, said:

"We are proud to be among the pioneering organizations in the Turkish business community to receive the Equal Pay Certification awarded by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation, and to be the first company in the Turkish pharmaceutical industry to achieve this distinction. As one of Türkiye's largest employers, we recognize the responsibility that comes with our scale and have made fairness and equality a cornerstone of our corporate culture. Ensuring equal pay for women and men performing the same or work of equal value is one of the indispensable principles of both our corporate culture and our sustainability strategy."
Taşpolatoğlu continued: "As a company founded 114 years ago that has achieved sustainable success through the collective contributions of women and men for more than a century, we see the independent recognition of our inclusive and equitable workplace culture as a significant source of motivation for our future efforts. While integrating the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact into our strategy and business processes, we consider equality, inclusion, and fairness to be integral to this approach. The certification process has once again demonstrated the importance of regularly measuring, transparently evaluating, and continuously improving our practices. Going forward, we will continue to maintain and further strengthen these standards while inspiring our industry."

A Milestone Strengthening Abdi İbrahim's Sustainability Vision

The Equal Pay Certification directly supports the priorities of Abdi İbrahim's HEAL2050 sustainability strategy by contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Gender Equality (SDG 5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8), and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). While the certification process independently verifies that the company's practices are aligned with international standards in these areas, it also reinforces Abdi İbrahim's progress toward the sustainability targets it has established under its HEAL2050 strategy.
