Abdi İbrahim Wins Gold Stevie Award at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers

Abdi İbrahim has received a Gold Stevie Award at the Stevie Awards for Great Employers for its Blue-Collar Skill-Based Compensation Design project, which incorporates production operators' experience and competencies into the company's compensation system through objective criteria. Developed entirely in-house, the model supports employee development while providing a fairer, more transparent, and easier-to-understand approach to compensation management.

The people-centered human resources practices of Abdi İbrahim, the uninterrupted leader of the Turkish pharmaceutical industry for the past 24 years, have once again been recognized internationally. The company received a Gold Stevie Award in the Achievement in Compensation Design and Administration category at the 11th annual Stevie Awards for Great Employers for its Blue-Collar Skill-Based Compensation Design project.

This year, the Stevie Awards for Great Employers received more than 1,000 nominations from organizations of all sizes across 38 countries. The awards recognize excellence across a wide range of human resources disciplines, including workplace safety and compliance, employee relations, HR teams, employer of the year, and compensation design. Winners were selected by a panel of more than 160 professionals from around the world.

The award-winning project was developed for production operators working at Abdi İbrahim's Esenyurt Manufacturing Complex and was designed in connection with the company's MPx (Multiprocess) Development Program. Introduced in 2024, the model marked a transition from a position-based compensation approach to a skill-based compensation system that also recognizes employees' experience and competencies.

Developed entirely through the expertise of Abdi İbrahim's own teams without any external consulting support, the model objectively evaluates employees' professional experience, responsibilities, and newly acquired competencies. By making the criteria for compensation progression clearer and more transparent, the system provides a fairer and more equitable approach for employees with comparable competency levels while encouraging continuous professional development.

"We built a fair system that recognizes experience and competencies"

Commenting on the award, Dr. M. Oğuzcan Bülbül, President of Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Abdi İbrahim, said: "At Abdi İbrahim, our human resources practices are built on a culture of fairness where every employee's contribution is valued and their development is supported. With the skill-based compensation model we introduced for production operators at our Esenyurt Production Complex, we have added another innovative practice to our HR approach by ensuring that the experience and competencies employees gain throughout their careers are reflected more systematically in compensation management. We believe that sustainable success is only possible through a corporate culture where employees feel valued and secure. We are delighted that this model has been recognized with a Gold Stevie® Award and that our people-centered approach to human resources, which we have embraced for many years, has received international recognition."

Part of the "Future of People" approach

As part of Abdi İbrahim's HEAL2050 sustainability strategy, the skill-based compensation model is positioned under the Future of People pillar. By supporting employee development and evaluating experience and competencies through objective criteria, the model contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10).

The model stands out as a tangible example of Abdi İbrahim's commitment to continuously enhancing the employee experience and fostering a more inclusive workplace. The company will continue to further strengthen its human resources practices that support employee development and promote equal opportunities across all business processes.
